Go for the Gold, Day 2 inspiration

In honor of Sandy Allnock's Go for the  Gold free online cardmaking class, I made a card with splatters of gold.  I was inspired by Day 2.  I used Heidi Swapp's color shine  for the background splatters.  I both sprayed the liquid on and also unscrewed the top and added larger gold dots using the applicator tube (tapping it off the end of the tube).  The bird is from Tim Holtz's crazy bird set.  I followed Sandy's suggestion from an earlier periscope viewing and added some eyelashes and turned up the mouth a little to make the bird look happier.  I also added balloons from Winnie & Walter's Lets Party stamp set.  The bird and balloons were colored using Zig Clean Clear Watercolor Markers. Though I'm not too sure about the purple and yellow combination for the bird (I still need to practice blending with the Zig markers, too) this is for a family member who likes bold, bright, and sometimes unusual color combinations. So, I think it will be OK as their birthday card.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching Sandy's videos and can't wait to try some other techniques she showed us.
